Community Service Project
The main goal of this project was to find out how the River Raisin affects its surrounding habitat (animals, plants, etc.) Water affects every living creature in the world. For this, we focused on the woods behind Jackson College in Adrian, Michigan.
During this project, the Middle College Students that attend Jackson College pulled Garlic Mustard and volunteered for the Kiwanis Club to fix up the trails behind the Tecumseh Performing Arts Center.
Garlic Mustard (As seen in its unnatural habitat)
Garlic Mustard is considered an invasive species. It takes over the natural habitat of other plants and causes them to die off. Garlic Mustard can spread like wildfire and is seen almost everywhere. On May 26th and May 27th of 2015, the Students of the Middle College pulled the Garlic Mustard and collected around 16, 60 gallon bags of this invasive plant.
